Westcliff University, today announced that it broke ground on the Westcliff Early Learning Academy (WELA). The establishment of WELA, in addition to the Westcliff Preparatory Academy, Westcliff University and Western State College of Law, marks a significant stride towards realizing Westcliff’s vision of providing exceptional, lifelong learning opportunities. Westcliff University, a premier global higher education institution, celebrated its 2023 commencement event on June 9. The ceremony commemorated Westcliff’s largest-ever graduating class with over 950 graduates from around the globe, including students from Dubai, Jordan and Nepal. Over 200 graduates attended the ceremony in person, and guest speaker and honorary doctoral degree recipient astronaut Captain Robert Lee “Hoot” Gibson, energized the crowd with gripping tales from the final frontier of space, while Westcliff University president Dr. Anthony Lee and a number of student speakers shared thought-provoking and inspirational words of wisdom.

Westcliff University, a premier global higher education institution that recently celebrated its 30-year anniversary, joined Special Forces Sports Foundation on March 21, 2023 to host Special Forces Sports Day at the Clava Sports Facility in Lake Forest, Calif. Western State College of Law at Westcliff University, the first law school in Orange County, California, was recently listed as a top school for diversity by Princeton Review and preLaw Magazine. Western State was ranked 6th for most diverse faculty; 7th for greatest resources for minority students and 8th for greatest resources for women in the Princeton Review annual “Best Law Schools” rankings. On the preLaw Magazine Most Diverse Law Schools list, Western State was ranked 7th with an A+ grade–earning a spot on the well-respected list for the 8th time. Since 2015, Western State has been a minority-majority law school with over 50% of its student body self-identifying as students of color. These recent recognitions demonstrate Western State’s ongoing commitment to creating and fostering a diverse student body and faculty to enrich the law school experience.

Western State College of Law at Westcliff University’s Associate Professor Eunice Park was named a Privacy Papers for Policymakers (PPPM) award-winner by the Future of Privacy Forum (FPF) — a global non-profit focused on data protection headquartered in Washington, D.C. Her paper, “Reproductive Health Care Data Free or For Sale: Post-Roe Surveillance and the ‘Three Corners’ of Privacy Legislation Needed” was showcased today at the 13th Annual Privacy Papers for Policymakers event on Capitol Hill.

Western State College of Law at Westcliff University announced the launch of an integrated Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration (JD/MBA) program with Westcliff University's College of Business. Since Westcliff University acquired Western State in 2019, the organizations have been jointly dedicated to providing advanced higher education opportunities globally and nationally. The new JD/MBA program underscores this commitment as students now have the opportunity to pursue both degrees simultaneously through ABA-approved Western State College of Law and ACBSP-accredited Westcliff University College of Business. The program enables students to compress five years of study into just over three years and graduates get expertise in both business and law, positioning them for a variety of roles.

Allen K. Easley, dean of Western State College of Law at Westcliff University, has announced plans to retire following the 2022-2023 academic year. His decision comes after nine years in the position, during which he played an integral role in the law school’s success. This year culminates with Western State welcoming the strongest academic incoming fall class in the organization’s history, the addition of five new faculty members, with more hires on the horizon and exciting program growth, including the recent addition of a JD/MBA program. Western State, the oldest law school in Orange County, Calif., is preparing a search committee to identify a new dean who will continue building upon the law school’s rich history and trajectory of success.
