YANCHENG, China, Sept. 15, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- From Sept. 11 to 12, the 2026 Jiangsu Tour for Multinational Corporations - Conference on International Exchange of Yancheng Zero-Carbon Industrial Parks was held in Yancheng, bringing together representatives of Fortune Global 500 companies and multinational corporations from more than 20 countries and regions along the Yellow Sea coast.

Yancheng has long been known worldwide for two distinctive calling cards: the Yancheng Yellow Sea Wetlands, a World Natural Heritage Site, and its designation as a City of International Wetlands. This time, it is a third calling card - green electricity - that has brought global businesses to the coastal city.
As China's "No. 1 Offshore Wind Power City," Yancheng not only ranks among the country's leading cities in new energy installed capacity, but is also at the forefront of making efficient use of green electricity. Here, the country's first physically traceable green electricity direct-supply application has been put into operation, enabling every kilowatt-hour of green electricity to be traced to a specific wind farm and time period. The country's first construction standards for coastal zero-carbon industrial parks were also developed here, while the Dafeng Port Zero-Carbon Industrial Park was selected as one of the first batch of national-level zero-carbon industrial parks.
"Yancheng is not merely developing the concept of 'zero carbon'; it is building real industries around it," said Ren Hong, vice president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai.
Yancheng is turning this vision into a clear industrial pathway: developing green electricity direct-supply bases for export-oriented manufacturing, giving products a "green passport" for overseas markets; developing green hydrogen, ammonia and methanol to turn wind and solar power into fuels that can be shipped; and developing green computing to encourage data centers to use clean electricity.
"Green methanol is not an ordinary chemical product, but the liquid form of green electricity," said Gu Xufeng, co-general manager of CP Group Industrial Capital. In Yancheng's zero-carbon industrial parks, the clustering effect is already taking shape, with upstream and downstream businesses operating under the same roof and neighboring buildings forming links within the same industrial chain.
