How to spread holiday joy with flowers — and help make wishes come true

(BPT) - The holidays remind us to cherish time with loved ones and embrace the spirit of giving. That spirit is at the heart of the partnership between Teleflora, the world's leading floral delivery service, and Make-A-Wish®, the organization that has granted more than 615,000 life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses worldwide since 1980.

Over 4,000 children will receive a devastating diagnosis this holiday season, making it crucial for Make-A-Wish and its generous donors, supporters, staff, and over 20,000 volunteers across the U.S. to continue delivering hope and joy to children and families when they need it most.

Dreams of Broadway

Nine-year-old Rooney from Yorktown, Virginia, wished to visit New York City to see her favorite musical, Wicked, on stage. Despite the day-to-day challenges of living with an inflammatory disorder, the avid fan watched the movie adaptation every week, learning all the songs by heart.

Thanks to Teleflora and Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia, Rooney finally experienced her favorite musical on Broadway. She also visited the Museum of Ice Cream, enjoyed delicious pho, and spent time shopping for the best fashion and skincare!

According to the 2022 Wish Impact Survey, these wish experiences can help improve the emotional and physical well-being of children, offering them and their families a once-in-a-lifetime experience that brings hope and supports their recovery.

The Big Apple was also the site of a major Teleflora-led fundraising effort for Make-A-Wish on Tuesday, Dec. 9, where Teleflora turned Rockefeller Plaza into a winter workshop rivaling that of Santa's, inviting passersby to make free Wish Bears - polar bear plushies - to take home or gift someone, in hopes to make the season brighter. Teleflora also donated $10 to Make-A-Wish for each one made. Each Wish Bear helped make wishes come true, while helping to make the season brighter and more festive.

The event is in support of Teleflora's latest campaign, "The Boy and the Bot," which reminds us that each of us has the power to be someone's wish come true.

How you can bring holiday cheer to others

For those who couldn't attend the event, Teleflora is funding additional ways for Americans to get involved and help donate $250,000 to Make-A-Wish.

Now through Dec. 31, 2025, 15% of the purchase price from Teleflora's select participating holiday bouquet sales on Teleflora.com, up to $250,000, will directly help grant children's wishes for Make-A-Wish! Each bouquet comes in a festive keepsake container to enjoy for years to come, including Teleflora's Send a Hug Cozy Cub Wish Bouquet, new to this year's holiday collection, and featuring a festive polar bear mug.

Teleflora's Little Drummer Joy Bouquet marches in the holiday cheer with red roses, wintery greens, and festive white blooms in a unique crystal drum vase, while Teleflora's Winter Whisper Tree offers serene seasonal beauty with snowy white flowers, frosted pinecones, and winter greens in a sparkling red vase.
